Heh, well, it's a little hard to explain...
You might call him an A.I., you might call him a digitized personality.
Don't ask me to explain what happened in technical terms, it's all I can do to keep up with end user commercial technology like the computer I'm writing this on.
In non-technical terms, Duke wound up in the computer when some technology he was using went haywire. It's a long story.
In fact it's such a long story that it's being done the justice it deserves. Check back very soon for the graphic novel: Duke Resonant. It's a story of music, heroics, foolishness, wisdom, love, hate, technology, Luddites, intrigue, thugs, sacrifice and a twisted ending.
